Making Friends Wherever We Go

Making Friends Wherever We Go

I see faces and little creatures just about everywhere I go. Some people know this phenomenon as “pareidolia,” but I just think of it as a natural effect of being such a Snufflemuffin.

Finding characters and personalities in everything around me is one of my favorite forms of creativity. It’s also a beautiful way to share the possibilities for delight that are all around us. And generally, all that’s needed is a li’l pair of eyes to bring the whole thing to life.

Here are some of the new friends I made.

I was eating ice cream from a small container, and a bubble hidden in the ice cream made the shape of a funny little mouth when my spoon revealed it.
Upon further spoon excavation, the hidden ice cream bubble from the last photo revealed itself to actually be a large gaping mouth of shock!
The hole in the center of my mochi donut looked like an anxious mouth, so I added eyes so it could more fully express itself.
Ok, so the anxious donut in that last image knew something bad was about to happen. There's a big ol' bite missing from its side now!
Two small little bubbles floating in a cup of coffee looked like li'l bubble eyes, so I added a exuberantly happy mouth to complete the face.
A mochi donut frosted with pink frosting, and the donut's hole looks like a smiling li'l mouth. So... I added eyes to it, of course.
A bubble popped in the pour-over coffee I was making which looked like a shocked or aghast li'l mouth, so I added eyes to complete the face.
A rubber glove fell on the floor in a way that made the fingers look like arms and legs, and then I added a happy and excited face to this new li'l friend.
A budding plant bulb exuberantly celebrates life (helped out by the happy little cartoon face and excited arms I added).
A surprised little face appears in the bubbles of a matcha latte

Have you made any friends recently?!

Have you discovered any of your own little friends?! If so, I would LOVE to meet them! Send me an email with a photo!
